Connie Sue Cowley passed away peacefully at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on July 1, 2026. She was born on August 14, 1961, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to George Sumpter, Jr. and Letha Faye (Boettler) Sumpter. Throughout her life, she exemplified warmth, kindness, and devotion to family.

Connie’s commitment to caring for others shone brightly in her career, where she worked as a housekeeper for a health care facility. Her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and gentle compassion made a positive difference in the lives of many residents and colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Connie found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday living. She had a passion for thrift stores, always finding delight in the search for treasured items and bargains. An avid reader, she cherished quiet moments with a good book. In addition, Connie enjoyed playing games on her phone, a pastime that offered both entertainment and a touch of fun to her daily routine.

Family was Connie’s greatest pride and joy. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding her happiest moments surrounded by their laughter and love. Connie’s deep devotion to those she held dear radiated in every gathering, conversation, and shared memory, and the bonds she nurtured will remain a testament to her loving spirit.

Connie is survived by: sons, Jason Cowley and Julie of Perkins, Oklahoma and Matthew Cowley and Darla of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sisters: Kathy Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Hazel Garrison of Lindsay, Oklahoma; special niece, Christie Perry; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Connie is preceded in death by: husband, Arthur Cowley; parents, George Sumpter, Jr. and Letha Faye Sumpter; brothers, Michael Sumpter and George Sumpter, III; and her sister, Laura Sumpter.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial to follow at Erin Springs Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
