Christopher "Chris" Jay Nobles

December 8, 1953 — February 28, 2023

Christopher Jay Nobles was born on December 8, 1953 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 69 years.

Chris lived in the Maysville area most of his life, but no matter where life sent him, Maysville was always home. He knew just about every farmer in Garvin County from working on their equipment. Chris was a heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver. He said that most of his life was spent driving a truck or under it making repairs. He never found anything with an engine that he couldn’t repair.

Papa’s Charcoal was his favorite place for lunch and he loved all the girls who worked there. His very favorite things to do was sit on the porch with his coffee and watch the birds at numerous feeders around the yard and then naps after lunch. His favorite and best girl was Ruby Mae, his Boston Terrier, she was his princess. All dogs and children loved Chris. He just had that special way about him. Chris leaves behind many friends and associates and he will be greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his wife, Cathy of the home; daughter and grandson, Misty Mays and Camden of Pauls Valley; daughter, Angela Ayres and husband Rob of Rogers, Arkansas. Grandsons, Jerod and Jacob Garber and Eli Ayres also of Rogers, Arkansas, two great grandchildren, Abby and Patrick Garber of Rogers, Arkansas. One son, Harold McLamb and wife Marun of Tuttle and two grandchildren, Edon and Anatasia of Tuttle. Aunt Neasha and Uncle Bill Rankin, Aunt “Babe” Sullivan all of Maysville and numerous cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his son, Paul Nobles; parents, Charlie and Millie Nobles; grandparents, J. Z. and Minnie Nolatubbe; and Uncle Richard Sullivan.

A special thank you to all the employees at Washita Valley Skilled Nursing Center who spoiled him. He considered them family.

Chris always said no flowers at my funeral because it would be too late for him to enjoy them. In lieu of flowers, please give that money to a family in need or kind gestures to everyone you meet. Smiles are a universal language.

Graveside Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
