Bobby Lou (Winans) Williams

Bobby Lou (Winans) Williams, 78 of Maysville was born on December 8, 1946, in Oklahoma City, OK to William E."Tubby" and Bobby {Brown) Winans. She passed from this life on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Maysville at her home surrounded by her loving family.

The Winans Family moved to Maysville in 1949 when Bobby Lou was 3 years old and established Winans Funeral Home. She attended Maysville Schools graduating from high school in 1965. After dating for 7 years, she and John Robert Williams (Johnny Bob) were married on September 12, 1969, in Maysville. They were soul mates for over 54 years of marriage and were rarely apart. Bobby Lou graduated from St. Anthony’s Nursing School with honors in 1969. While Johnny Bob attended Mortuary School in Dallas, Texas, Bobby Lou worked at Baylor Hospital. After his graduation in 1972 and due to Tubby Winans passing, they returned to Maysville to become the owners of Winans Funeral Home. Over the next several years they became parents to three children: John, Brad, and Libby. While working at the funeral home, Bobby Lou also worked as a Registered Nurse at Lindsay Municipal Hospital, Purcell Municipal Hospital, and the Garvin County Health Department, where she retired in 1997. Bobby Lou retired her license after 50 years of being a registered nurse. She and Johnny Bob worked side by side in the funeral home for 43 years before selling the funeral home to their, son and daughter-in-law, John and Theresa in 2015. Bobby Lou felt like her nursing and funeral home work were “A Calling from God”. It truly was a ministry and not a job and they always had an “open door policy” at their home.

Bobby Lou loved her church family at the First Baptist Church where she had been a member since she was 9 years old. She had helped in the Wednesday night children’s ministry and other ministries that her church was involved in. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class and the closeness of friendship there. She was always a prayer warrior for anyone at anytime and anywhere. Bobby Lou was also a certified Christian counselor which was one of favorite things after retiring from nursing.

Survivors include her three children: John and wife Theresa Williams of Maysville; Brad and wife Jerri Williams of Frisco, Texas, and Libby Williams Thomas of Ada. Grandchildren: Connor Williams, John Ross Williams, Molly Williams, Rian Williams, Peri Thomas Patterson and husband Cooper, and Cedar Thomas.

Bobby Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Bob Williams; parents, W. E. “Tubby” and Bobby Winans; and her brother, Dr. W. E. “Bill” Winans, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Maysville, OK with Rev. Charley Henthorn officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, OK under the direction of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family on this website.
