Billy "Jeff" Newby

Billy Jeff Newby, born February 10, 1951, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, passed away on June 10, 2026. A devoted family man and steadfast rancher, Jeff’s life was a testament to his deep love for the outdoors, hard work, and the cowboy way of life.

Jeff possessed a spirit that truly embraced every moment, finding joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. Dedicated to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. His heart was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing in activities that celebrated his passions: fishing, hunting, running heavy machinery, farming, and ranching. The natural world called to him, and he answered with enthusiasm, whether it involved horses, cattle, or simply the vastness of open land.

He was raised in Lindsay, Oklahoma, by Paul and Fleta Newby, whose memories live on in the fabric of his life. Jeff’s siblings, Linda Kay Newby and Audie Newby, preceded him in death, while he is survived by his beloved sister Joy Newby. His brother PJ Newby remains a part of his cherished family circle.

Jeff is deeply mourned by his loving wife Darleen Newby; his son Cory Newby and Melanie, son Judd Newby and Tammy Davis, daughter Brandy Brown and Johnny; and son Tommy Davis and Kira. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Tyler Newby, Carli Millsap and Ryan, Kelton Brown and Addison, Kyndel Evans and Jared, Clayton Davis, Kiersi Davis, and Kynli Davis, as well as his great-grandchildren Blakely Millsap, Braxton Millsap, Mazie Evans, Fischer Evans, Fletcher Evans, and Rudy Ray Brown.

One of Jeff’s proudest accomplishments was the success he nurtured as a farmer and rancher, a life he pursued with unwavering dedication and pride. Yet above all, it was the time spent with his family, watching them enjoy the land and lifestyle he loved, that brought him true fulfillment and joy. This, more than any other achievement, defined his days and will forever illuminate his memory.

Billy Jeff Newby’s legacy is that of a man who loved deeply, worked diligently, and lived fully—a true cowboy in spirit and deed. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
