Betty June Bray

Betty June Bray was born in Agawam, OK on July 31, 1935 to Viola and Sidney Gibson. She passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, OK at the age of 85 years. Betty married Charles Bray on July 7, 1952. The two were married for 63 years and made their home in Lindsay, OK. Betty was proud of the fact that she was a faithful Christian for 64 years and she very rarely missed a church service. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lindsay where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

During the early years of her marriage, Betty worked in restaurants and at the broom factory in Lindsay. She then worked for several years taking care of many children at her in-home daycare, where she loved and treated these children like her own.

Betty is survived by three sons: Jim Bray and wife Rhonda Bray, Lindsay, OK, Rick Bray and wife Jan Bray, Lindsay, OK, and Mike Bray and wife Tanya Bray, Norman, OK. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Langham, Oklahoma City, OK.

Grandchildren: Jeff Bray and wife Brianne Bray, Lindsay, OK, Jennifer Wilson, Yukon, OK, Katrina Williams and husband James Williams, Norman, OK, Jimmy Bray and wife Brittany Bray, Blanchard, OK, Kristina Bray, Norman, OK, Justin Bray and wife Kristi Bray, Lindsay, OK, Brittany Copeland and husband Gaylan Copeland, Moore, OK, Jay LeClercq, New York, NY, Siehara Walker, Waco, TX, Bethany Bray, Los Angeles, CA, and Dylan Bray, Moore, OK. She was also survived by 20 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Sidney Gibson, one brother, Alfred Gibson and one sister, Dorothy Thompson. Also one grandson, Neil Bray, and three great grandchildren, Melody Wise, Marcus McCray, and Mark McCray.

Funeral services for Betty Bray are set for ten o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Church of Christ, Lindsay, OK, located at 1205 W. Cherokee St., Lindsay, OK with Brant Stubblefield officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home of Maysville, OK.
