Barbara Ellen Mack, born on November 20, 1948, in Cortez, Colorado, has left a mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and community spirit.
Barbara was a nurturing presence in her family and in her career, where she dedicated herself as a nurse's aide in a nursing home. Her compassion for others extended beyond her profession; she truly loved her family and held a deep connection with her community. Barbara’s laughter was known to be contagious, creating warmth and kindness wherever she went.
She will be lovingly remembered for her remarkable baking skills, especially her homemade rolls, which brought happiness to countless gatherings. The holidays, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, were her favorite times of the year, filled with cherished memories and family traditions that she treasured deeply.
Barbara will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her son, Michael Mack and his wife, Sol Vanessa of Norman, Oklahoma; her son, Jimmie Reed of Maysville, Oklahoma; and her daughter, Julie Ann Mack of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a grandmother to Jordan, Dustin, Justin, Jerry Lee, Michael, Lexi, and Summer, a great-grandmother to Haley, Zane, Anna Belle, Layla, Lucy, Karma, Rex, Julius, and Aubrey. Barbara is also survived by numerous other family members, and the countless friends made over the years.
She joins her husband, Jimmie Frank Reed, Sr.; her parents, Robert and Mattie Sitton; her brothers, Boyd William Sitton and Michael Sitton; and her sister, Laverne Sitton, in eternal rest. Barbara Ellen Mack will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Family and Friends Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
