Barbara Kay Hewes

Barbara Kay Hewes passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on April 28, 1951, Barbara’s life was full of love and devotion. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A devoted homemaker, Barbara dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming environment for those around her.

Barbara had a gift for forming bonds with people, and her friendships were nurtured with genuine kindness and unwavering support. She treasured time spent with her loved ones, and her heart was always open to family and friends alike.

Barbara is survived by her children: daughters Joyce Goodman of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and Carrie Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and sons Phillip John (PJ) Hewes of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Jon Jacobson of Owasso, Oklahoma. Barbara is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Barbara’s memory will also be cherished by all those whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jehiel Warner Hewes, III; her father, Roy McDaniel; her mother, Lola (Rhodes) McDaniel; and her daughters, Mary Nunley and Kelly Hopper. Barbara’s love for her family, both those she leaves behind and those gone before her, was the cornerstone of her life.

Barbara will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for her kind spirit, her love of people, and the special moments she created and shared with her family and friends.

Services for cremation are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be left for the family on this website.
