Anna Bell Miller, age 91, formerly of Stratford/Union Valley/Paoli/Maysville, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. She was a graduate of Tupelo High School in 1949 and attended Keen University in 1950. Anna Bell grew up in West Texas on a ranch with her parents and five of her siblings. She was raised on nothing short of deep-rooted Christian values that she in turn taught her own family. She was a Seventh Day Adventist Christian.
Anna Bell’s talents were many. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, and canning. She was the family seamstress sewing all the clothes for her girls, from their everyday wear to their prom dresses. Her talents even included carpentry work. She completely remodeled the Stratford home with her own two hands, installing windows and hanging doors. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t fix.
Her biggest devotion was to loving her family. She was a beloved wife to Estel Miller for 53 years. Anna Bell was the definition of unconditional love acting not only as a wife but also a nurse for her paraplegic husband for the better part of 2 decades. Anna Bell's unbridled love and selflessness was unsurpassed as she also cared for her parents and her husband’s parents. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had a hand in raising not only her children but many of her grandchildren.
Anna Bell enjoyed car rides with her late husband watching for wildlife and enjoying the scenery. She enjoyed being outside and soaking up the sun with her family. She spent many hours fishing for catfish on Muddy Boggy. Her work ethic was admirable and undoubtable kept her young. The example she set has left an everlasting imprint on many generations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Carmel Weems, her husband Estel Miller, her seven siblings, and four grandchildren. She is survived by her four children: Donnie Miller (Chrissy), Connie Christian (Ray), Cindy Miller (Jesse), and Randy Miller (Tracy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Fajt, Julie Pitts, Mary Fajt, Marissa Fajt, Melissa Dehart, Nathan Hisaw, Jacob Miller, Jessi Rolan, Sherry McNiel, Brian Christian, Debra Hernandez and Jared Christian. Survived by great grandchildren Taylor Fajt, Reid And Brooke Grimes, Lauren Hornbeck, Connor Pitts, Wyatt Phelps, Macy and Ethan DeHart, Lainey and Nora Hisaw, Lyra and Ezron Miller, and Henry Rolan. 20 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews, and a large bonus family of grandchildren who also lovingly referred to her as “Nanny.”
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Paoli Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
