Jo Wanda Williams

Jo Wanda Williams of Lindsay was born on December 25, 1928 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Lonnie Lee and Myrtle (Russell) Bennett. She passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years. Jo was a lifetime resident of the Lindsay area. She married Kenneth Williams on February 21, 1948. She had worked at Storm Plastics and as the bookkeeper for the family business of contract pumping. She loved her family and spending time with them. Jo enjoyed doing crafts, making birthday cakes, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and canning. She loved working in her flower beds and if it bloomed she loved it. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lindsay and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her son, Kent Williams and wife Janet of Lindsay. A daughter, Cindy Dodson of Lindsay. Grandchildren: Courtney Dodson Webb and husband John, Nick Dodson and wife Traci, Shannon Williams Newcomer and husband Brice, and Brent Williams. Great grandchildren: Ryan and Grant Webb, Lili and Addison Dodson, Reed, Wyatt, and Hudson Williams, and Owen Newcomer. And many other relatives and friends made throughout the years. JoWanda was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Myrtle Bennett; husband, Kenneth Williams; a brother, Royce Bennett; and sisters, Anita McWhirter, Galah Bennett, Geneva Bunch, Patsy Bennett, Georgia Lea Bunch, and Helen Timmons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Lindsay with Josh Howe officiating. Burial will be in the Erin Springs Cemetery, Erin Springs, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
