Chanqueitta "Tuffy" Gay Harmon

Chanqueitta Gay “Tuffy” Harmon of Pauls Valley formerly of Lindsay was born on March 1, 1935 in Junction, Texas to Richard Thomas Moore and Mildred Irene (Sellers) Moore. She passed from this life on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Tuffy grew up in Anadarko, Oklahoma where she graduated from Anadarko High School in 1953. She married Lloyd Ray Harmon on October 4, 1953 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. In 1969 she moved from Wichita Falls, Texas to Lindsay and about a year ago moved to The Willows in Pauls Valley. Tuffy loved having her family around and cooking for them, always the more the merrier. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s businesses and a caregiver who supported and cared for him leaving a wonderful legacy behind for her family. Tuffy never met a stranger and would open her house to everyone who would come. She enjoyed nature, fishing, gardening, canning, and playing Skip-Bo with her friends at the Willows. She loved to travel and looked forward to seeing all of the places she visited. She also cherished spending special time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tuffy was a member of the Lindsay Church of Christ and she loved her church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her daughters: Connie Rose and husband Bill of Cypress, Texas; Janice Bruton and husband Bobby of Lindsay; and Loray Chamberlain and husband Jack of Lockhart, Texas. A brother, Richard Love Moore and wife Ouida of Poteau, Oklahoma. And 5 granddaughters - Kylie Jackson, Erin Flood, Sarah Schubert, Brittney Morgan, Lindy Chamberlain; 1 grandson - Austin Rose, and 8 great grandchildren Riese Flood, Crew Flood, Edyn Flood, Emmy Flood, Gradee Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Owen Schubert, Will Schubert. Tuffy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mildred Moore; her husband, Lloyd Ray Harmon; and a sister, Anita Louise Little. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Lindsay Church of Christ, Lindsay, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Lindsay Church of Christ with Josh Howe officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
