Maude Anita Nunn-Duke

Maude Anita Nunn-Duke of Maysville was born on January 4, 1923 in Charleston, Arkansas to Claude and Rosa (House) Borden. She passed from this life on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Davis, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years. At 5 years of age Maude moved from Arkansas to Maysville, Oklahoma. She married Hershel Nunn on February 14, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and to this union seven children were born. They were married 49 years before Mr. Nunn preceded her in death. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and being a caregiver. Maude enjoyed going to Senior Citizens, gardening, quilting and she made hundreds of them, and showing chickens at the fair. She married Odis Duke in Maysville, OK at the Church of Christ on January 4, 1990, they enjoyed walking around town visiting with their neighbors and friends. Maude was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ and it was a vital part of her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her sons: Robert Nunn of Maysville, Derrick Nunn and wife Shirley of Oklahoma City, and Louis Nunn of Maysville. Daughters: Linda Cooper of McAlester; Ruth Kaye and husband Donny of Maysville; and Cathy Deen and husband Phillip of Maysville. And 25 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Maude was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Rosa Borden; husbands, Hershel Nunn and Odis Duke; a son, Jimmie Nunn; brothers and sisters, Ray Wood, Carl Flynn, John Aaron Flynn, Cathrine Flynn, Veronica Hannings, and Christine Flynn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Church of Christ, Maysville with Dwight Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
