Davon Jean Spivey

Davon Jean Spivey of Lindsay was born on July 16, 1959 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Dan Wesley and Alma Jean (Chandler) Hughes. She went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the age of 57 years. Davon grew up in Sulphur where she graduated from Sulphur High School in 1977. She married Stan Spivey on May 7, 2004 and they moved to Stan’s hometown of Lindsay 11 years ago. She worked for Oklahoma School of the Deaf and as a secretary for ODOT until her retirement. Family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Davon loved being with her friends, Sherry, Debbie, and Sandy. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Cletus and Allie Spivey, OU Football, fishing, gardening, and making homemade kraut. Another joy in her life was music and going to the Pauls Valley Opry. Davon was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church, which she loved dearly and working with the children there. Her survivors include her husband, Stan of the home in Lindsay. Son, Curt Tully and wife Kyla of Sulphur and daughter, Lacey Hill and husband Zachary of Wynnewood. Step-sons, Jake Spivey and wife Amanda Rose of Purcell; Kris Spivey and wife Lauren of Lindsay; and Clint Spivey and wife Holli of Lindsay. Step-daughter, Jessica Spivey of Paoli. Brothers, Danny Hughes and wife Lee and Don Hughes all of Sulphur. Grandchildren: Kirsten Tully, Castin Tully, Kytley Tully, Paisley Spivey, and Jolee Rae Spivey. Mother-in-law, Pauline Ince and husband Jack of Lindsay. Davon was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Alma Jean Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating and eulogy by Dwight Marcum. Burial will be in the Dolberg Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Roff, OK with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating at the graveside. Services are under the direction of John W.
