Larry Ray Brooksher

Larry Ray Brooksher of Maysville was born on January 23, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Raymond Samuel and Ethel Lucille (Blackwood) Brooksher. He passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at his home in Maysville at the age of 71 years. Larry lived in Maysville all of his life, graduating from Maysville High School in 1961. He got his degree at East Central University and obtained his Masters Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He was an Elder of the Chickasaw Tribe. Larry had worked as a wrestling coach at Pauls Valley. He raised race horses and was a jockey and trainer. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Larry will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include a brother, Wesley Brooksher and wife Jandra of Maysville. Sister, Norma Wilkerson of Wheatland. A special cousin, Linda Harris. And nieces. nephews, and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ethel Brooksher; a brother Carroll Brooksher; and a sister Fuschia Dickson. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Antioch Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
