Mary Lou Meeley of Maysville was born on December 27, 1944 in Byars, Oklahoma to Ben Wallace and Hannah Wallace. She passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. Mary raised most of her children in Oklahoma City. She lived in Pauls Valley before moving to Maysville in 1991. She worked as a nursing aide for McCaskill Nursing Home in Maysville. Mary was a happy person who would tell her children, “I will be okay”. She enjoyed children and all children called her grandma. She liked to go bowling and watch fast pitch softball. Mary was affiliated with the Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her sons: Kelly Meeley of Oklahoma City and Jerry Meeley of Midwest City. A daughter, Latricia Meeley of Maysville. Half-brothers: Frederick Wallace and Marvin Wallace. Half-sister, Janice. And 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gilbert;and an infant son; brothers, Tecumseh Wallace, Luke Wallace, Josh Wallace, and Vernon Wallace; sisters, Annabel Hickman, Eveline Amos, Geraldine Meeley and half-sister Pat. A wake will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Dixon Chapel near Stratford and funeral services will be held there at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 with Leon Postoak officiating. Burial will be in the Dixon Chapel Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville,OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
