Thomas “Tommy” Alvin Stephens, III of Maysville passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at his home south of Maysville at the age of 45 years. He was born on August 11, 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK to Thomas Alvin Stephens, Jr. and Myrtle Vendeline (Derksen) Stephens. Tommy lived in Maysville all of his life, graduating from Maysville High School in 1985. After graduation he went to work as a lineman for Mark Sallee Electric and then REC where he worked as a lineman and Safety Coordinator. Tommy started his bull riding career while in high school and had a IPRCA license for independent rodeo. He raised Greyhounds, bucking bulls, and other livestock. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tommy enjoyed playing all sports and always won Winans Junior Olympics while in grade school. He loved watching OU Sooner sports. He married Charlotte Hagler on July 30, 2005 at Love Baptist Church. Tommy’s lifetime dream was to have a bull in the PBR and that dream was fulfilled by his bull, Tommy Boy, in the last week of his life. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Pauls Valley. Tommy will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. His survivors include his wife, Charlotte of the home. Daughters: Gretchen Stephens and Sophia Stephens of Noble; Callie Christian and husband Zac of Ada; and Chesney Moore of Noble. Son, Chris Moore and wife Kim of Ardmore. Brothers: Marlin Krause and wife Claudia of Ada and Jim Krause and wife Ruth of Victoria, TX. Sisters: Jean Koehn and husband Larry of Ft. Cobb and Nan Burrows and husband Dan of Maysville. 7 grandchildren. And many other relatives and many, many friends. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Stephens, Jr. and Myrtle Stephens Peterman. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Winans Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Maysville, OK with Rev. Brian Black and Rev. Zac Christian officiating. Burial will be in the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
