Roy Gail Goodman

Roy Gail Goodman of Maysville passed from this life on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years. He was born on December 7, 1936 in Pernell, Oklahoma to Matt and Gertie (Mauldin) Goodman. Roy met and married his future wife, Elaine Hodges, in Long Beach, California. They were married on September 4, 1968 and made their home in Spokane, Washington for 18 years before settling in Oklahoma for the remainder of their lives. Roy was a gifted musician, enjoyed playing the fiddle and guitar with several bands over the years. He and his wife Elaine ran a heat and air business from their home for many years. Survivors include his son, Michael Goodman and wife Katie and children: Caeleigh and Matthew of Maysville; and Thomas Joiner of Stratford. A daughter, Susan Weatherman and her husband James and daughter Jamie. Grandchildren: Kim Patty of North Dakota; Debbie Crispi of Boise, Idaho; and Dewayne Gowen of Georgia. Great Grandchildren: Stacey Simpkins Sphuler of Idaho and Jeremy Simpkins of Idaho. Great great grandchildren, Jackson and Ashlynn Sphuler. Two nephews, sons of his late sister, Gay: David Busey and Jim Busey. Children of his late brother, Gordon: Ann and Ron Hanson, Joy Breesney, Julie and Bill Watts, and Michael Goodman all of Washington state. Great nieces: Bonney Warden and husband Michael and Leigh Gwin and husband Nic. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Gertie Goodman; his wife, Elaine Goodman; a brother, Gordon Goodman; and a sister, Gay Busey. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Pooleville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
