Carl Raymond Scott

Carl Raymond Scott of Maysville passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 13, 1928 in Wewoka, OK to Gaylon Scott and Flora (Boyd) Scott. Carl graduated from Wewoka High School. He married Mary F. Roberts on September 4, 1948. He started working for Flint Rig in 1948. In 1950 he went to work for Sinclair Oil Company, then ARCO took over Sinclair and he worked for them until he retired in 1985. Carl lived in the Story/Maysville area since 1948 except for the 2 years at Keifer, OK. Carl enjoyed farming, ranching, checking his cows in his “hoopie”, and driving the tractor. He was an avid pheasant, quail, and deer hunter, and fisherman who enjoyed camping. Carl loved his family and spending time with them. His survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary of the home. Son, Don Scott of Maysville. A daughter, Carla Wollenberg and husband Gene of Perkins. Grandchildren: Justin Wollenberg and wife Celia of Norman. Gena Wollenberg of Stillwater. A great grandbaby, Michael due in April. Brothers, Ed, Lloyd, and Leon. Brothers-in-law: Will Roberts and wife Norma; Joe Roberts, and Ray Dean Prather. A host of nieces and nephews. And many friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ed and wife Betty and Lloyd and wife Leonia; mother and father-in-law, Dozie and Olin Roberts; sister-in-law, Ida Prather; and brother-in-law Billy Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
