Myrtle Lucelle Burditt

Myrtle Lucelle (Rogers) Burditt of Lexington passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Wadley Care Center, Purcell, OK at the age of 98 years. She was born March 5, 1914 north of Maysville in the Story Community to John Leslie Rogers and Cora Ethel (Carson) Rogers. They moved south of Story in January 1920, where she lived until she married Leon O. Burditt on December 27, 1936. In the 64 years they were married they lived at Story, Lexington, Lancaster, CA, Maysville, and in 1968 moved back to Lexington. Myrtle was baptized in the Story Baptist Church. Leon passed away in 2000. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, and her flower garden. She is survived by her son, Glenn Burditt and wife Barbara of Cushing. Daughter-in-law, Vanice Burditt of Maysville. 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; son, Dewayne Burditt; an infant son, Ned Payne, the twin brother of Dewayne; two brothers, Audy Rogers and Claude Rogers; four sisters, Aleeta Ledgerwood, Florance Odom, Elsie Ledgerwood, Ruth Caler; sisters-in-laws, Patsy Burditt and Gwen Burditt; brother-in-law, Bob Burditt; and one nephew, Bryant Ledgerwood. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville with Rev.Tim Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
