Alvin Allen Hamilton

Alvin Allen Hamilton of Maysville passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Purcell, OK at the age of 86 years. He was born on April 13, 1926 in Lindsay, OK to Joe and Edith Rae (Beverly) Hamilton. Alvin grew up in Lindsay graduating from high school there. He moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico for a while before moving back to the Lindsay area in the early 1970's. He was a farmer/rancher and during the broomcorn days, he worked as a buyer. Alvin married Cledith (Williams) Forkner on March 20, 1997 in Gainesville, Texas. He enjoyed walking, visiting at the coffee shop, watching car racing, and basketball games. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Cledith of the home. A son, Allen Wayne Hamilton and wife Karen of Sepello, New Mexico. Daughter, Janet Lynn Saline and husband Kenneth of Mesa, Arizona. 2 step-sons: Kent Forkner and wife Sharon of Purcell and Joe Frank Forkner and wife Denise of Maysville. Sister, Laura Jo Erwin of Oklahoma City and niece, Evie Jo Erwin. Sister-in-law, Janie Willingham and husband Buck of Maysville. Grandchildren: James Robert Hamilton and wife Megan; Jeremy Saline and Troy Saline. Great grandchildren: Blair Hamilton and Lillian Hamilton. Step-grandchildren: Rendi and Mickie Kelly; Cody Forkner; Desiree and Jason Walker; Matthew and Hazie Forkner; Samuel and Lindsay Forkner; and Marshall Forkner. Step-great grandchildren: Weston and Jessi Kelly; Kody, Karly, and Kaity Walker; Jordan, Kylie, and Lauren Forkner; Lucas and Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Edith Hamilton and wife, Mary Ann Hamilton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Maysville with Dwight Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
