Jawanna Lucille Arnold

Jawanna Lucille Arnold of Lindsay, OK passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home, Lindsay, OK at the age of 89 years. She was born on February 2, 1923 at Wallville, Oklahoma to Ira Clark and Ophelia (Allred) Newberry. Jawanna married Douglas Arnold on July 22, 1941 in Pauls Valley and he preceded her in death in 1977. She worked for 17 years as a medical aide at Lubbock State School before retiring. Jawanna moved to Maysville to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she enjoyed watching play ball and do cheerleading. She had also been a caregiver for her brother. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Jawanna will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her daughter, Betty Auld and husband Wayne of Lindsay, Oklahoma and a son, Bob Arnold and wife Neva Jo of Post, Texas. Grandchildren: Kim Kraft; Robby Arnold and wife Melissa; Torie Townley and husband Rodney; Kristi Edelman and husband Kraig; and Emily Curran and husband Jay. Great grandchildren: Danni Auld, Kaitlynn and Kaycee Kraft; Maria and Douglas Arnold; Caleb and Jamie Townley; and Zackary, Luke, and Adam Edelman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Clark and Ophelia Newberry; her husband Doug of 36 years; and brothers: John, Aaron, Chester, and Harry Newberry; sisters: Hazel and Violet Newberry; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville, OK with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
