John Mark Warden

John Mark Warden, 52, of Norman passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born March 10, 1959 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Max and Twila Beth (Cannon) Warden. John grew up in Oklahoma, graduating as Co-Valedictorian of his class from Wynnewood High School in 1977. He was a three sport standout in Football, Basketball, and Track, winning 3rd in the State Track Meet in the Pole Vault. John was a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, and State Honor Society. He attended two years of college at the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Presidential Leadership Class and enjoyed watching OU football and basketball. John moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he lived most of his adult life before returning to Oklahoma. He worked doing home repairs and refinishing furniture. John enjoyed animals, planting flowers, and working crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Max and Beth Warden of Norman. Brothers: Richard Warden of Chickasha, Max Warden, Jr. of Norman, and David Warden of Norman. “A Second Mother”, Pauline Richardson of Wynnewood. Special friend, Becky Snow of Purcell. Nephews and nieces: Jeanna and Todd Smith, David and Britney Warden, Lindsey and Jonathan Pearson, Christine Warden, Katherine Warden, and great nephew Cade Smith. And by other relatives and friends.
