Thomas A. Davis, 82, of Lindsay died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home. He was born on March 16, 1929 at Stonewall, Oklahoma to Elmer Edward and Leona (Peacher) Davis. Thomas had worked in the oilfield, retiring about 1990 from Shebester Well Service after 30 years of working there. In his younger days he had worked as a logger in Oregon. In 1990, Thomas married Shirley Hearon at Chickasha, OK. He enjoyed riding horses, calf roping at rodeos, and welding metal picnic tables and porch swings. He was a fantastic gardener and could grow anything. Thomas was a faithful patron at the Lindsay Gas-N-Go sometimes going several times a day. He made a profession of faith on August 30, 2011. Thomas will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include, his wife Shirley of the home in Lindsay. Step-daughters: Renee Chastain and her husband Bud of Wichita Falls, Texas; Diane Johnson and her husband, Matt of Chickasha; Linda Tecumseh of Lindsay; and Debbie Bell and husband Delbert of Lindsay. Step-son, Gary Henson of Lindsay. A brother, John Davis of Stonewall, OK. Sisters: Zena Mae McCraw, Lois Davis, and Dovie Spence all of Ada, Oklahoma. 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Grave side services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK with Rev. Matt Celoria officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
