Raymond Harold Ast

Raymond Harold Ast, 67, of Lindsay passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at his home. He was born December 2, 1943 at Union City, OK to Albert and Francis Ast. Raymond grew up in Midwest City, graduating from Bishop McGuiness High School in 1961. In 1972 he married Norma Blevins in Arkansas. Raymond had worked for OG&E, drove cattle trucks, and managed ranches in Bradley and Mannitou. After moving to the Lindsay area, he went back to driving a truck hauling bulls. Raymond enjoyed his family, team roping, and talking to the boys about roping and cattle trucking. He also enjoyed reading about politics and the Catholic religion. Raymond was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay. His survivors include his wife, Norma of the home. Sons: Huck Blevins of Bromide, OK; and Rusty Geter and his wife, Brandi of Lindsay, OK. Daughters: Tonya Howard of Hectorville, OK; Jaye Kennedy and her husband, Mitch of Lindsay, OK; and Amy Stuart and her husband, Joe of Indiana. Sister, Mary Jack of Cherokee Village, Arkansas. 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with several due throughout the rest of the year. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Le’Keta Blevins. A wake will be held at 6:30 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lindsay, OK. Father Wilbur Moore will officiate. Burial will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 3, 2011 at Connerville Cemetery, Connerville, OK under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
