Ollie Aleeta McCaskill

Ollie Aleeta McCaskill, 85, of Maysville passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Wadley Care Center in Purcell. She was born August 18, 1925 at Lindsay, Oklahoma to Ollie Otto and Ollie Mae (Wynn) Brooksher. Aleeta attended Davis School during her childhood. She married Sherrell McCaskill on July 27, 1942 at Pauls Valley. Aleeta attended Beauty School in Chickasha where she obtained her license as a beautician. In 1961 she opened her own beauty salon in Maysville, it was called Modern Beauty Shop. Aleeta and Sherrell shared the same building, she with a beauty salon in front and he operated an auto mechanics shop in the back. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and making floral arrangements. Aleeta participated in craft shows where she had her own booth to display her handiwork. She really enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Aleeta was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Her survivors include her brother, Huston Brooksher and his wife, Gayel of Elmore City. And several nieces and nephews. Aleeta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherrell; and by her daughter, Tonya; brothers: Arthur Eugene Brooksher, Raymond Brooksher, and Alva Brooksher. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Oklahoma Chapter, Inc., 6465 S. Yale Ave., Ste 312, Tulsa, OK 74136-7804. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2011 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Price and Rev. Rodney Goddard officiating.
