LEO PAUL GREEN Born: October 18, 1934 at Canute, Oklahoma to Pete and Mary Grossman Green. Passed away: October 1, 2010 at his home east of Maysville, Oklahoma Age: 75 Leo Green has been a resident of this area for the past 31 years. He is a well-known and successful farmer and rancher. After graduating from Canute High School, Leo entered the U.S. Army serving at Ft. Sill from 1957-59 working in the ground to air missile training program. On February 3,1962, he married Janet Standridge at the Hughes Baptist Church, southwest of Maysville. Leo loved his family, they all worked hard and enjoyed farming, ranching, and relaxing together. Leo was an enthusiastic fisherman and passed on his skills to his children and grandchildren. The Green family epitomizes the farm family of today in Oklahoma. Leo was also a man of faith, he was a member of the Lady of Victory Catholic Church at Purcell, Oklahoma. Survivors: His wife of 48 years, Janet of the home near Maysville. 2 Sons: Allen Green and wife Kim of Maysville and Wayne Green and wife Brandi also of Maysville. 2 Daughters: Debra Pigg and husband Ted of Paoli and Gail Grussendorf and husband David of Cedar Park, Texas. 2 Brothers: Ambrose Green and Charles Green; and by 1 sister, Mary Agnes Temple. 9 Grandchildren, and by other relatives and a great number of friends made throughout the years. Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Mary Green, a brother Cornelius, a son-in-law Jon Shanks and a grandson Bodie Green. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Boys Ranch Town, 5100 E. 33rd St. Edmond, Oklahoma 73013. Family visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel. *******Funeral services will be held October 4, 2010, Monday morning at 10:00 am, at the First Baptist Church of Maysville with Rev. Mark Frost officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville.
