Orville Edgar “Ed” Raper, 69, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Maysville died on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. He was born October 7, 1940 in Maysville, OK to Orville Claude and Nadine Lucille (St. Clair) Raper. Ed graduated from Maysville High School in 1958. He was employed by Shebester Well Servicing until he was drafted into the Army for 3 years serving as a military policeman in San Pedro, California. After his time spent in the service he returned to Oklahoma where he gained employment at Tinker AFB. Ed worked as a Unit Chief of Engines before retiring in 1993 after 30 years. In 1992 he married Joanna Daves of Oklahoma City. Ed was an avid golfer and he enjoyed woodworking by making toy boxes, work benches, and cabinets. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include: his wife, Joanna of the home in Oklahoma City Son, Christopher Kelly Raper and his wife, Teresa of Moore Step-sons: Jeff Senn of Moore; Richard Senn & his wife Rebecah of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; Matthew Senn and his wife Melissa of Oklahoma City Brother, Rondal Raper and his wife, Jeanie of Moore Nephew, Chase Raper of Moore 9 grandchilden: Rick, Karissa. Mikal, Cameron, Jared, Brianna, Christopher, Riley, and Ava. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville. Rev. Danny Gamble will officiate with burial in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, OK.
