Lloyd W. Hill, Jr. entered Heaven August 25, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Lloyd was born October 28, 1944 to Lloyd and Geraldeen Hill in Marlow, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy in 1962 and went through basic training in San Diego; Lloyd was stationed in Long Beach aboard the minesweeper, the USS Force. While in Long Beach, he met Norma Potts; it was love at first sight and after a whirlwind courtship of four months, they married on December 20, 1963 at the First Nazarene Church. Lloyd spent 13 months in Viet Nam in 1965/1966. After Lloyd’’s Navy years, the couple made their home in Moore, Oklahoma and began their family. He attended Oklahoma University and went to work for Sun Oil Company in 1967. He retired from Oryx Energy after 33 years in that industry. He and his family had homes in Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, California and Texas. He worked several years for Boots & Coots in Houston with his son Jeffrey. In 2000 he and Norma moved to Littleton, Colorado where he was the project manager for Emerald Homes. In 2008, they retired for the third time and moved to Laguna Park, Texas located on beautiful Lake Whitney. Lloyd and his son, Jamie, enjoyed many hours on ‘‘his’’ lake in their Ranger bass boat affectionately named ““Dad’’s Corvette.”” Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd W. Hill, Sr. of Maysville, Oklahoma and by beloved grandparents J.V. and Winnie Hill of Maysville, Oklahoma and John and Madge Overstreet of Marlow, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Norma of Laguna Park, Texas; two sons, Jeffrey L. Hill of Grand Junction, Colorado and James E. Hill of Laguna Park, Texas. Lloyd is also survived by his mother Geraldeen (Gerri) Hill of Maysville, Oklahoma and his sister Pamela Perew of Oklahoma City; he leaves behind two granddaughters, Kindra Hill and Jamee Hill of Sanger, Texas as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends all across the country. Lloyd will be fondly remembered for his love of family and friends, his unique sense of humor and his strong faith. He loved to fish, hunt and play golf with his boys, his friends and their friends. Lloyd enjoyed life to the fullest and he leaves a legacy of love and devotion to all those who knew him. Lloyd’’s Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in his hometown of Maysville, Oklahoma at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10:00am under the direction of long-time friends, John and Bobby Lou Williams of Winans Funeral Home. This will truly be a celebration. Lloyd did not want this to be a sad time but a time of rejoicing; he wanted a party to be held in his honor, anyone wishing to share a humorous story about Lloyd is welcome to speak. The family can be contacted at P.O. Box 5633, Laguna Park, TX 76644
