Katherine Caroline Ellithorp

Katherine Caroline Scott Ellithorp, 86, of Alex passed from this life on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Lindsay Municipal Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1924 at Kinmundy, Illinois to Arthur and Daisy (Keen) Brimberry. Katherine moved to this area in 1948. She married Carl Raymond Scott and he preceded her in death in 1983. Katherine had been employed at various jobs during her lifetime. When she lived in Illinois she worked in the plastic factory and the defense plants. After moving to Lindsay she worked as a beauty operator, as a florist, and owner-operator of Erin Springs Superette. On April 1, 1984 Katherine married Bud Ellithorp. Together they enjoyed going dancing, sometimes 7 days a week. Katherine liked making ceramic dolls and clothes for them and was a collector of approximately 5000 in her own home. Her other interest included cooking and canning. Katherine will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Bud Ellithorp of the home in Alex 5 step-children: Julie and Ray Brooksher of Alex; Gene and Sandi Ellithorp of Ninnekah; Debbie and Steve Allison of Alex; Richard and Marcana Ellithorp of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Penny and Mike Hitt of Whitesboro, Texas A brother, Marion E. Brimberry of Cape Girardeau, Illinois. Sisters: Maxine Todd of Salem, Illinois and Helen Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma 12 Step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren Nieces and nephews that she raised: Nancy Boyles, Mary Lawson, Jimmy Brimberry, and Gene Donoho Other nieces: Margie Faulkenbury and Patricia Mullins And by many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Carl Raymond Scott; brothers: Norman Brimberry and Joseph Brimberry; sisters, Stella, Marie, Thelma, and Flora. Grave side services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 16, 2010 at the El Cado Cemetery, Peru, Kansas under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma.
